by Taxsutra
Course Expiry: 1 year
Categories: Inside the Corporate World, e-Learning
Publisher: Taxsutra
About Course:

Course Duration:
25+ hours comprising of 11 episodes

Course Background:
CSR is the latest buzzword in the Indian corporate lexicon. The Companies Act, 2013 for the first time mandated Corporate Social Responsibility in India for companies fulfilling certain criteria [which was made applicable from 1st April 2014]. Seven years have since elapsed, and the legal provisions relating to CSR in India have drastically matured and are radically different from the provisions as originally introduced.

What shall the course cover?
As of today, it is safe to say that CSR has moved from a ‘comply or explain’ approach to a ‘mandatory spending’ approach. A strict compliance regime has been introduced in the latest amendments, and hence, it is imperative that all the stakeholders do a detailed study in order to understand the implications of the various provisions as amended so far. Having said this, it is also important for all professionals to upgrade their knowledge on CSR-related law and the intricacies involved, especially due to the huge scope for professional work in this arena.

In the light of this backdrop, Taxsutra Neurons is delighted to present to you a 25+ Hours Master-Class Series on “Corporate Social Responsibility for Professionals” with Ms. Rupanjana De (Practicing Company Secretary, CSR Expert & Author of several books on Company Law and CSR)

In this course, Ms. De has comprehensively discussed the following:

  1. Provisions relating to CSR as contained in the Companies Act, 2013 and the Companies (Corporate Social Responsibility Policy) Rules, 2014 as amended from time to time
  2. Various other notifications of MCA in this regard
  3. Other CSR provisions contained in other Guidelines and Regulations (which are often overlooked), which are equally important and interesting,  with special focus on (i) listed companies (ii) Public Sector undertakings (iii) companies in project phase (iv) Third party Implementation agencies and all their specific compliance requirements
  4. Practical examples to help understand the applicability and calculation of CSR allocation
  5. Financial accounting, cost accounting, taxation and PR aspects of CSR, be it for companies in the private sector, those in the government sector or Section 8 companies
  6. CSR assessment tools like CSR Audit, Impact Assessment, SRoI, CRI and CSR Ratings
  7. Role of Professionals in the area of CSR

Apart from the in-depth discussion on the legal aspects of CSR, the Master-Class is specially designed in a manner to be a one-stop solution to all your queries in the field of CSR law and regulations in India.
