Real Estate gst
Categories: GST & Other Indirect Taxes
Publisher: Bharat Law House Pvt Ltd
About Book:

In pre-GST regime, stagnancy in tax laws was a norm and changes were an exception. However, in GST regime, change has become the norm and GST has witnessed numerous changes, almost everyday, in each and every aspect of legislation. In addition to numerous changes, now, suddenly after twenty-one months, the Real Estate Sector (which is second largest employment generator after agriculture) is proposed to be kept outside the input tax credit chain! Further, the new GST rates for under-construction residential properties needs to be deposited by Developers in cash (this is equivalent to stamp duty payment)! Given the magnum opus change, the Developers need to roll-up their sleeves (again!) to decode the changes, align their business processes, configure ERPs, seek clarifications through advance ruling, maintain details project-wise etc. Thus, a need for a comprehensive book on impact of GST changes on the real estate subject was necessitated and accordingly, this book is written to help professionals, real estate sector entities and GST Authorities in decoding these changes.
