Co-operation means working together jointly. Co-operative Societies are expected to function according to certain Co-operative Principles as well as per provisions of the Co-operative Societies Act and Rules. Co-operatives are based on the values of self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity and solidarity. - Co-operative Societies Act, 1912 (2 of 1912),
- Bengal Co-operative Societies Act, 1940 (Bengal Act No. XXI of 1940)
- West Bengal Co-operative Societies Act, 1973 (WB Act No. XXXVIII of 1973)
- West Bengal Co-operative Societies Act, 1983 (WB Act No. XLV of 1983)
The Book contains the necessary Notifications, Amendments, Registration Procedure and The Constitution (97th Amendment) Act, 2011.
